7-day food transition tracker

Mix the new food in gradually and tick three things each day. If stools loosen or your Yorkie stops finishing meals, stay on the previous day's mix for a couple of extra days before moving on.

Stop and call your vet if you see vomiting, blood in the stool, diarrhea lasting more than a day, or a puppy that refuses food — tiny dogs dehydrate and can drop their blood sugar quickly.

Keep total daily calories the same throughout: weigh the day's portion, then split it by the percentages above. General guidance for healthy dogs; follow your vet's plan for any prescription or sensitive-stomach diet. Educational only.
